One of the key avenues for NRM Education to support schools is training for school staff.
Topic based PD around the themes energy, waste, biodiversity, transport, air, water, youth voice, food, climate change, education for sustainability, water management and taking action is available throughout the region. Other key issues covered include what is AuSSI?, effective student lead environment groups, School Environmental Management Planning (SEMPs) and whole-of-school Education for Sustainability planning.
Where appropriate PD will be run in partnership with other service providers, DENR and DECD staff.
NRM Education is planning to run a number of events in 2013. This provisional calendar is provided for your interest, but events are subject to change and confirmation of venue. Once events are fully confirmed, they will be advertised through our regular weekly digest.
Our next event is a High Schools Sharing Evening on Monday June 17th 2013 4:30-6:30pm at Thebarton Senior College. What works best when trying to integrate sustainability across a high school? What are the challenges faced by secondary teachers? How can NRM Education best support you? For more information, download the flyer from here (280KB PDF). RSVP by June 13th to Amy Blaylock firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name, site name and any special dietary requirements.
