Education for Sustainability Learning Group 2011

Overview

The EfS learning group was set-up in 2010 to provide an informal meeting space for school staff to share experiences of implementing EfS at their education site. Meetings are held on an as needs basis with topics identified by those that have attended previous meetings.

Meetings are informal and usually run from 4.30 to 6.30 pm on a Monday evening. Several guest speakers from schools are invited to speak on the chosen topic. with plenty of time allowed after each speaker for sharing and discussion.

In 2011 EfS learning groups are being set-up in the northern and southern regions of the AMLR and the central meetings will continue as they did last year. To find out about your nearest EfS learning group and when their next meeting is contact:

Aims

  • Foster sharing and discussion between school staff who are working to incorporating EfS principles and practices into school systems.
  • Support the learning journeys of individuals as well as the whole group's.
  • Provide space and time for reflection, discussion and synthesis of good examples of EfS.
