Sustaining River Life - schools curriculum and activities guide
Sustaining River Life contains a range of learning activities relating to rivers. It is not a course of study, but aimed at developing a collection of good learning activities that can be used in both outdoor and classroom settings and tie into various content areas. There are 24 lessons plans grouped under the headings of river animals, plants, water, habitats and people. Each module includes information on how it aligns to Key Learning Areas in each state/territory.

Water Sensitive Schools Initiative
This initiative organised by Future Sensitive Institute involves building rain-gardens, swales and other water sensitive and multi functional landscapes in or around schools. This is conducted in collaboration with students, teachers, the local council and other community stakeholders.

Urrbrae Wetlands Learning Centre
The Urrbrae Wetland Learning Centre offers programs suited to school groups from junior primary to secondary school and interested members of the community. Click here to download their flyer. The website includes ideas on how to implement different environmental themes into many learning areas including science, SOSE, maths, the arts and english. Resources and activity sheets specific to Urrbrae Wetland are also available to download which complement a visit to the wetland.
