NRM Education takes delight in announcing the release of our latest Engaging with Nature teacher resource packs.

We now have a resource to assist you in undertaking habitat assessments of your school/site/local area through the use of birds and another to investigate the presence/absence of hollows and how to increase habitat value for birds and other wildlife through the construction and placement of nest boxes.

Wipe out Waste

School Waste Audit photo Wipe Out Waste (WOW) is the go to program when it comes to reducing the amount of materials from your site that are going to landfill.

WOW offers resources, teacher professional development, advice and assistance to conduct a Bin Materials Audit (BMA) on site to discover how you can reduce material going to landfill. WOW and NRM Education work together to ensure the priorities identified in the audit can be put into action and linked to student learning at your school/preschool.

Wipe out Waste is funded by Zero Waste SA and hosted at KESAB environmental solutions.

Funding is currently available to schools/ pre-schools for initiatives that will reduce waste going to landfill through Zero Waste SA’s School and Community Grants (closing date April 30^th, 2012).
